Customers need to know who you are, where you are, and how to get hold of you.
If I need to hunt for a phone number of a business card, or if that email I printed off only has a “click here” hyper-link you your website, without actually specifying your url, then I get annoyed may just not bother.
Your contact details are as important as your profile, your goods and services. Your contact details need to become part of your branding, even it is just a website address.
You have spent considerable resources on branding and consistency in your customer touch point. Inclusion of your contact details, in a consistent and familiar manner, will ensure that your do not lose a potential sale because consumers did not know how to easily contact you.
Because the majority of goods and services are essentially commodity items, everything that you can do to enhance your point of difference will be noticed, especially the small things.
Ensure that every piece of stationary or marketing material has your contact details. Ensure that every email sent from your organisation has appropriate contact details. Ensure that every letter, regardless of content, has the same look and feel about it. Do not anonymously create forum posts – identify yourself every time – this adds to your expert status.
This all sounds like very basic stuff; and it is, however, I’d like a dollar for every time I encountered a touch point, and could not immediately locate the contact details.
Sometimes you can get involved in the creative creation of communication, that we forget to make it easy for our audience to contact us back.
